NHS and Beta Induction (By: Eric Swann)

These are two groups that include some of the most brightest, hardest working Juniors and Seniors throughout our building. The President of NHS is Bryson Sebastian and the President of Beta club is Alyssa Anglin, two very resilient, intelligent, humble leaders within their school and society.

These two groups allow students a way to give back to their community. While they’re building their resume, they are also building up the people around them; it allows contribution to bettering society, themselves, and the people that surround them. There are many various service opportunities. A list of some service opportunities include: Tutoring, cleanups, volunteering at elementary school festivals, collecting resources for homeless shelters, etc.

Both groups had their induction last week and it was absolutely astonishing. With lots of returning seniors, new first-year seniors, and new juniors both groups look forward to creating better citizens for society and developing overall character development and experience for the future.
A statement from Aden Thomas an active member of both NHS, Beta club, as well KYA, Kuna, advanced orchestra, and debate: “I love being involved in NHS and Beta Club because both of these programs have provided me with an opportunity to serve my community without payment or reward, which is an incredible feeling. It also gives students a chance to grow closer with the people living in their community, whom they may not have met if it weren’t for these programs. Furthermore, a lot of the service projects that we do involve hanging out with friends and kids, which is really exciting.”
